We are bombarded every day with the hundreds of ways that we are ‘wrong’. Billion dollar industries exist to make sure we don't forget it and buy their stuff to ‘fix it’. Too loud Too quiet Too big Too small Too old Too young Too hairy Too everything! But what if there's actually nothing wrong with you at all? Seriously? Like nothing. That how you show up in the world is exactly right. It can be really hard to feel right in a world that likes to point out your ‘flaws’. I'm here to tell you that you ARE right. And I'm also here to encourage you to find yourself right. To start to approve of yourself and all that you do. Sure you'll make mistakes, but then we all do. Stuff happens that we might have been able to avoid and that we might have wished we could. But if you had avoided it, what else might you have missed out on? To approve of all that you have done and what you want to do next takes some effort. To start the ball rolling you can write down a list of all the phrases that come into your mind when you disapprove of yourself. Then go back over your list and change it to an approving phrase instead. When you then have the disapproving thought, try to notice it, and gently change it to the approving phrase instead. Taking the time to do this exercise will dramatically improve your self-talk and your thoughts and feelings about you. Because you aren't wrong and you never have been.
